Excitement is building for *Days Gone Remastered*, and today, Sony’s Bend Studio offered a closer look at the enhanced accessibility features coming with the updated version of the game. Among the most notable additions is the Game Speed control, which allows players to slow down gameplay during intense moments—offering more time to react and strategize.

In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, highlighted how these new tools aim to make the game more inclusive and enjoyable for a wider audience. The Game Speed feature gives players the ability to adjust the pace of play from 100% down to 75%, 50%, or even 25%. This can be especially helpful in high-stress situations like fending off massive Freaker hordes—a core mechanic in *Days Gone*’s gameplay.

“Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers,” explained McAllister. “Hordes are a pillar in *Days Gone* gameplay, and with our new Horde Assault mode arriving in the remaster, we wanted to make this unique combat experience more accessible to our players.”

Beyond Game Speed, *Days Gone Remastered* introduces several other accessibility enhancements. These include customizable subtitle colors, adjustable High Contrast Mode settings, UI Narration, and audio cues for collectibles. Additionally, the auto-complete Quick Time Event (QTE) feature—once limited to Easy difficulty—will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.

Bend Studios also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolling out to the PC version of *Days Gone*, alongside the remastered console edition. However, some functions related to feedback and controller customization may require a compatible controller to function properly.

Since its official announcement in February, *Days Gone Remastered* has been generating buzz thanks to a variety of quality-of-life upgrades, including an enhanced photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, and of course, the expanded accessibility suite.

Mark your calendars—*Days Gone Remastered* launches on April 25, 2025. Owners of the original PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10, making it easier than ever to dive back into the world of Deacon St. John.
