It appears that one of the PlayStation Plus games for May 2025 may have been leaked, with rumors suggesting that the teen slasher horror game, Until Dawn, will be available as a free download for PlayStation players. While Sony has not yet confirmed this, the promotional art hints that it might be the Until Dawn Remastered version rather than the 2014 original. We will provide confirmation as soon as we receive official news.

PlayStation Plus is a comprehensive online gaming service for PlayStation platforms, offering a variety of benefits to its subscribers. These include free monthly games, limited-time trials, online multiplayer capabilities, and exclusive member discounts. Additionally, Extra and Premium members have access to a vast catalog of current and classic games, while the monthly free games are accessible to all players regardless of their subscription level.

Speculation from the PlayStation community on Reddit, as highlighted by PushSquare, suggests that this move could be a promotional effort tied to the recent release of the Until Dawn movie. However, the movie did not meet expectations, receiving a 5/10 score from IGN, with our review stating: "Until Dawn is more disappointing than deadly, leaving all the promise of the horror game behind for a jumble of horror-movie re-creations."

Similarly, the 2024 remaster of Until Dawn also received a 5/10 from IGN, with our review describing it as an "overpriced and under-featured remake that seems less like a must-have bit of moonlit murder and something closer to daylight robbery." In contrast, the original 2015 game from Supermassive was more favorably received, earning a 7.5/10 from us.

In other PlayStation Plus news, 22 games are scheduled to be removed from the service next month. This list includes popular titles such as Grand Theft Auto 5, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, and the last playable versions of first-party titles Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2. Once removed, Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 will no longer be available on modern consoles.
