The Portal can be used outside your home, provided you have access to a stable, fast internet connection. However, it's important to note that the PS Portal is not a standalone device; it requires a PS5 to function.

Update: You no longer need a PS5 to play games on the PS Portal. Sony has introduced a new feature allowing Portal owners to stream games directly from the PlayStation Now cloud streaming service.
