The PlayStation Portal, a unique handheld gaming accessory for the PS5, is now available at a discounted price through Amazon Resale. You can snag a Used: Like New condition PS Portal for just $150.23, marking a significant 25% off its original retail price of $199. Be quick, as these units are expected to sell out fast. Update: The price has further dropped to $150.23, making it the lowest price we've seen for a Used: Like New unit.

This device looks and functions as if it were brand new, despite moderate packing damage observed during inspection.

The PS Portal transforms your PS5 into a portable gaming device, featuring an 8-inch 1080p LCD screen sandwiched between an extended split-pad DualSense controller. It enables you to stream games from your PS5 at up to 60fps, complete with the DualSense's haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a touchscreen that takes the place of the traditional touchpad. The Portal can be used outside your home, provided you have access to a stable, fast internet connection. However, it's important to note that the PS Portal is not a standalone device; it requires a PS5 to function.

Update: You no longer need a PS5 to play games on the PS Portal. Sony has introduced a new feature allowing Portal owners to stream games directly from the PlayStation Now cloud streaming service. This means you can access a library of over 120 games, including titles like Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 3 Remake, The Last of Us Part 1 Remastered, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, without needing a PS5. To use this feature, you must subscribe to the highest tier of PlayStation Plus, which costs $18 per month—a much more appealing option than buying a PS5 and additional games.

It's worth mentioning that the PlayStation Portal isn't the only way to stream PS5 games over Wi-Fi at home. The PS Remote Play app on mobile devices, including other handhelds like the Steam Deck, offers a similar experience. However, setting it up is more complex, and you'll miss out on some of the DualSense's unique features.

PlayStation Portal Review by Seth Macy**

"The PlayStation Portal exceeded my expectations. It offers a superior experience compared to using a phone with a controller attachment, and it performs better than I anticipated. The freedom to play my PS5 games anywhere with decent Wi-Fi coverage is a game-changer, especially when competing for TV time at home. However, it's not a standalone device and does require a PlayStation 5 to function. The main drawbacks are its inability to connect to Wi-Fi networks that require a web browser login and its lack of Bluetooth audio support. Despite these limitations, it's the best solution for PlayStation Remote Play and a must-have for PS5 owners who enjoy handheld gaming or need to share the TV."
