The anime lineup for Spring 2025 is looking incredibly exciting on both Crunchyroll and Netflix, the prime destinations for anime enthusiasts. Fans can look forward to the premiere of ***The Apothecary Diaries*** Season 1 on Netflix, with its second season set to debut on Crunchyroll. Additionally, the much-anticipated return of ***My Hero Academia*** in the form of the spinoff *Vigilantes* and the continuation of ***One Piece*** with the 'Egghead Island' arc following a refreshed airing of the 'Fishman Island' arc, are sure to captivate audiences.
Below, you'll find the comprehensive schedule of new and continuing anime series available on either or both streaming platforms from late March through May 2025. Key highlights are marked in bold, and I've included some top picks at the end to help you decide what to watch.
I've highlighted ***The Apothecary Diaries, Once Upon A Witch’s Death, The Beginning After The End, To Be Hero X***, and ***WITCH WATCH*** in my roundup of Spring 2025 anime dubs coming to Crunchyroll, but there are some other great picks from the list above that you should consider adding to your watch list.
***Devil May Cry*** is Netflix's latest animated adaptation of a video game, and with its Limp Bizkit-soundtracked trailer and a newly composed Evanescence track, it's clear the creators understand the tone they need to strike for their audience. Netflix has had a mixed track record with anime and anime-style game IPs, ranging from hits like *Castlevania*, *Arcane*, and *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners* to misses like *Tekken: Bloodline* and *Dragon’s Dogma*. However, with creator Adi Shankar, who has worked on *Castlevania*, *Guardians of Justice*, and *Captain Laserhawk*, and Studio Mir, known for *Avatar: The Last Airbender* and *Korra*, behind the project, fans of anime like *Trigun* should find the mercenary adventures of Dante, the ultimate '00s edgelord, highly entertaining.
***Moonrise*** presents a unique concept where the moon fights for independence, a premise that the creators of 2021's *Moonfall* might wish they had thought of for a sequel. This original net animation (ONA) boasts impressive talent, including animation by WIT Studio (*Attack On Titan, Vinland Saga*), original character designs by manga icon Hiromu Arakawa (*Fullmetal Alchemist*), and direction by Masashi Koizuka (*Attack On Titan* Seasons 2 & 3). Despite the limited information available about the story, the involvement of such a stellar team suggests we're in for something extraordinary.
Lastly, ***YAIBA: Samurai Legends*** might be unfamiliar to those outside Japan or younger audiences, but it has maintained a cult following since its manga debut in the late 1980s. Created by Gosho Aoyama, known for *Case Closed*, this samurai comedy follows Yaiba Kurogane as he battles an arch-nemesis with a magical katana and a demon army. With WIT Studio at the helm and Aoyama's direct involvement in production, this second anime adaptation promises to blend the style of *Detective Conan* with the humor of early *Dragon Ball* and numerous Japanese historical references. It's a must-watch for fans of these genres.
