Players will have access to five different tools, with two unlocked through story progression. These tools are essential for both stealth and combat scenarios.

Grappling Hook

Naoe's Grappling Hook is a game-changer for exploration, allowing you to latch onto structures and ascend without using handholds. It's perfect for reaching high vantage points swiftly and even swinging across large gaps, enhancing your ability to observe and outmaneuver enemies.

Kunai

The Kunai is a lethal throwing knife that can instantly kill regular enemies. It's vital for stealthy eliminations, but upgrades are necessary to penetrate the armor of stronger foes, ensuring you remain undetected while dealing significant damage.

Smoke Bomb

The Smoke Bomb is a versatile tool for both defense and offense. Deploy it to break enemy lines of sight for a quick escape or use it in combat to disorient foes, setting up perfect opportunities for assassinations and rapid strikes.

Shuriken

The Shuriken, a classic shinobi weapon, is perfect for navigating guarded areas. While not as damaging as the Kunai, it can stagger enemies and trigger environmental interactions, like disabling alarms or igniting explosives. Its silent nature makes it invaluable for stealth missions.

Shinobi Bell

For those who prefer diversion over direct confrontation, the Shinobi Bell is ideal. When thrown, it attracts enemies, clearing your path or setting up crowd control. Upgrades can enhance its range and visual allure, making it an even more effective distraction.

All tools, except the Grappling Hook, can be upgraded using Mastery Points through the Tools skill tree. Here's how to enhance each tool:

Grappling Hook

The Grappling Hook's only upgrade, Ascension Boost, is found in the Shinobi Tree. For 2 Mastery Points at Knowledge Rank 2, it significantly speeds up Naoe’s climbs, making ascents quicker and less detectable.

Kunai

To maximize the Kunai's effectiveness, focus on the Kunai Assassination Damage upgrades, which increase the damage per throw. Enhance its armor-piercing capabilities with the Armor Piercing passive skill, and use Everlast to ensure the Kunai can be retrieved without breaking.

Smoke Bomb

After unlocking the Smoke Bomb, extend its duration with the Enduring Haze upgrade, adding 10 seconds to its effect. The Widespread upgrade increases the area of effect, allowing you to obscure more enemies at once.

Shuriken

Upgrade the Shuriken with Bank Shot to enable them to ricochet between targets, increasing damage with each hit. The Triple Threat upgrade allows you to throw three Shurikens simultaneously for the cost of one, offering versatile options in both stealth and combat.

Shinobi Bell

Enhance the Shinobi Bell's distraction capabilities with the Golden Bell upgrade, making it more eye-catching. Follow up with Louder Chimes to increase its effective radius by five meters, drawing more enemies into its lure.
