Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

Bandai Namco is taking another swing at bringing Digimon to mobile with Digimon Alysion, a digital adaptation of the Digimon Card Game. Set to launch on Android and iOS as a free-to-play experience, the exact release date remains under wraps. This exciting announcement came during Digimon Con 2025 on March 19th, where Bandai Namco also unveiled other updates, including a new arc for Digimon Liberator in April 2025. They celebrated the Digimon anime's 25th anniversary with a special video and announced a new project, Digimon Adventure: Beyond, alongside a new RPG titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger, slated for consoles and PC.

Digimon Alysion: Not Just Another Card Game

Digimon Alysion isn't merely a digital replica of the physical Digimon Card Game. It introduces a unique feature, 'DigiAly' cards, alongside the original cards tailored specifically for this mobile version. Bandai Namco is also adding fresh Digimon and characters to the mix. Notably, the game's website showcases an all-girls cast, which is an unconventional choice for a digital card game. This direction has sparked some skepticism among fans who were hoping for a more faithful adaptation of the physical game.

This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into Digimon mobile gaming, and their previous attempts haven't met with much success.
