Call of Duty Leak May Reveal When Verdansk Will Return to Warzone

Summary

  • A leak suggests Verdansk's return to Warzone in Season 3.
  • The leaked information hints at similarities to the original map, exciting fans.
  • Season 3's release, potentially alongside Black Ops 6, promises fresh content regardless of Verdansk's return.

A Call of Duty: Warzone leak hints at the possible return of Verdansk in Season 3. Since Warzone's launch, Verdansk has been a fan favorite, and its potential comeback is generating considerable excitement.

Initially, Verdansk was the sole map in Call of Duty: Warzone, launched alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Iconic locations like City Center, Airport, Boneyard, and Suburbs defined the Verdansk experience. While it reappeared in Warzone Mobile, limiting its reach to mobile devices, the original Verdansk has since been replaced by Caldera, Al Mazrah, Urzikstan, Vondel, and Verdansk '84. Although Verdansk '84 shared some similarities, its unique aesthetic and missing landmarks, such as the Gora Dam, left many players yearning for the original. This recent leak fuels anticipation for its return.

Call of Duty news source Charlie Intel reported on the leak from user TheGhostofHope, tweeting about Verdansk's potential Season 3 arrival. While a Verdansk map screenshot accompanied the tweet, its origin—datamined Season 3 assets or a copy of the original map—remains unclear. Unlike the significantly altered Verdansk '84 (based on Black Ops: Cold War), this teased location appears closer to the original. Similar to Black Ops 6 Season 1, Warzone Season 3 will likely overlap with the main game, potentially attracting a larger player base. Black Ops 6, since its release, has seen a player decline, a trend not significantly reversed by Season 1 or the Squid Game collaboration.

Call of Duty: Warzone Leak Suggests Verdansk Returns in Season 3

Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 launch across all platforms on January 28th at 9:00 AM Pacific Time. This suggests a 54-day Season 1, potentially establishing a standard timeframe for future seasons. Season 2 is anticipated to include Ricochet anti-cheat improvements and new game modes and events. While a release date for Season 3 remains unconfirmed, a Spring release is expected. Therefore, if the leak proves accurate, Verdansk could return in March.

It's crucial to remember that this Verdansk return is based on a leak and should be treated with caution until officially confirmed by Activision or Treyarch. Activision's continued updates to Black Ops 6 and Warzone guarantee new content regardless of Verdansk's return.
