Unlocking characters in BlazBlue: Entropy Effect is a unique process. Unlike many fighting games, you'll need Prototype Analyzers to add new fighters to your roster (excluding paid DLC characters like Rachel and Hazama). This guide details how to acquire these Analyzers and lists all playable characters.

You'll receive your first Prototype Analyzer after completing the tutorial. Follow the in-game instructions; you'll find a glowing platform in a room accessible through a passage to the right of the Acer Program room. Interact with the platform to access the character selection menu and choose your first unlock.

Subsequent Prototype Analyzers unlock additional characters via this same platform. Remember, purchased DLC characters are automatically unlocked upon installation.

Earning more Prototype Analyzers in Entropy Effect requires time and dedication. Here are your options:

Story Progression: Completing training missions and progressing through the main story unlocks gray skills. You'll earn a Prototype Analyzer at these milestones:

  • Unlocking 10 gray skills
  • Unlocking 20 gray skills
  • Unlocking 40 gray skills
  • One is also awarded after a key story event (no spoilers!).

Note: Unlocking green skills through Potential doesn't reward Analyzers. Currently, only three are obtainable through story progression.

Mind Challenges: Complete Mind Challenges to earn AP (Action Points). You can exchange 5,000 AP with the janitor for a Prototype Analyzer. This is a less frequent method of acquisition.
