Says It "Could Be Interesting"

The success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might lead developer Sandfall Interactive to consider a release on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. In a recent interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Guillaume Broche, the director of Expedition 33, discussed the studio's future plans following their game's impressive launch.

Broche emphasized that the game's success has opened up numerous possibilities, stating, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything."

When questioned about the potential for a Switch 2 release, Broche remained cautiously optimistic, noting the influx of opportunities the studio is currently navigating. "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting," he elaborated.

Given the imminent launch of the Switch 2, it would be fitting for this year's top-rated game to also be available on the much-anticipated new handheld console. Fans eager to experience the Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on Nintendo's latest device will need to stay tuned for further developments.

No Official Merchandise...Yet!

Amidst the game's soaring popularity, Sandfall Interactive is also facing a surge in requests and opportunities, including the demand for official merchandise. Notably, fans have expressed interest in an official plush of the beloved character, Esquie. However, the studio has not yet released any official merchandise and has warned fans about the proliferation of counterfeit products online. In a Twitter (X) post dated May 14, they clarified, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."

Sandfall Interactive also cautioned against purchasing these bootleg items, many of which feature AI-generated artwork, and may potentially be scams. Despite this, the studio is actively exploring the possibility of creating official Esquie plushies.

In their tweet, they expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of official merchandise, stating, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"
