If there's one thing you can say about mobile developer AppSir, it's that their games are always worth exploring. From our glowing review of Spooky Pixel Hero to their latest release, Climb Knight, AppSir consistently delivers a unique indie gaming experience that resonates with players. And now, Climb Knight is set to receive a major update that promises to enhance the game even further.
You might be thinking, "Didn't you already cover Climb Knight?" Yes, we did, and we gave it a positive review. Interestingly, the team at AppSir was pleasantly surprised by the reception Climb Knight received. In celebration, they've announced a major new update coming on February 25th, and it's completely free!
So, what's in store? The update includes three new one-bit minigames and introduces a mysterious new advisor character, inspired by Apple Newton shareware. Given AppSir's track record with spooky and intriguing releases, there's likely more to this advisor and the new gameplay than meets the eye.
Climbing up
AppSir proves that a dedicated indie developer can break the mold and find success on mobile platforms. While they may not be the "New Blood" of smartphones, their work shares similarities with the excellent Faith trilogy, particularly in the spooky, retro aesthetic of their back catalog.
