At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Nvidia unveiled exciting developments for gamers, particularly those eyeing the RTX 50 series of graphics cards. The tech giant announced that 75 games will support DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation, a feature exclusive to the RTX 50 GPUs, promising a significant boost in frame rates (FPS).
The upcoming Nvidia GPUs, codenamed Blackwell, are set to build upon the foundation laid by the current Ada Lovelace lineup. These new GPUs will introduce enhancements to Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology. Scheduled for a January release, the RTX 50 series will also feature Multi-Frame Generation, designed to increase FPS in supported titles more effectively than the current Frame Generation technology. The flagship model of the Blackwell lineup, the RTX 5090, will come equipped with 32GB of GDDR7 video memory and start at an MSRP of $1,999. Other models, including the RTX 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070, will have starting price points of $999, $749, and $549, respectively.
Nvidia highlighted DLSS 4 and Multi-Frame Generation as potential game-changers, revealing that 75 games and apps will support these features right from the launch of the RTX 50 GPUs. For instance, in Cyberpunk 2077, Nvidia demonstrated that with DLSS and Multi-Frame Generation disabled and full ray tracing enabled, the game would run below 30 FPS on the RTX 5090. However, activating these features would increase the frame rate to an impressive 236 FPS on the flagship Blackwell GPU.
While Nvidia did not specify a precise release date for the RTX 50 graphics cards beyond January, they confirmed that some DLSS 4 enhancements will not be exclusive to the RTX 50 series. Older cards like the RTX 40 series will receive updates to DLSS features such as Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing (DLAA) through future Nvidia GeForce driver updates, available via the Nvidia app or their website.
Additionally, upcoming titles like Doom: The Dark Ages will incorporate Multi-Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction upon their release. PC gamers considering an upgrade to the RTX 50 lineup will have a wealth of new features to explore.
