Conquer Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest 3 Remake: A Comprehensive Guide

After securing the Six Orbs and hatching Ramia the Everbird, you're ready to challenge Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest 3 Remake. This challenging dungeon serves as the ultimate test before venturing into the underworld. This guide details navigating and conquering Baramos's Lair.

Baramos's Lair houses the Archfiend Baramos, the game's primary antagonist in its first half. Access is granted only after obtaining Ramia. Aim for a party level of at least 20 before attempting this challenge. The dungeon holds valuable items, detailed below.

How to Reach Baramos's Lair

Following the Maw of the Necrogond and acquiring the Silver Orb, unlock the Everbird. Fly from either the Shrine of the Everbird or the Necrogond Shrine to Baramos's Lair.

North of the Necrogond Shrine lies an island nestled amongst mountains – Baramos's Lair. Ramia can transport you directly to the dungeon entrance.

Baramos's Lair Walkthrough

Baramos's Lair differs from typical dungeons. Instead of linear progression, you'll traverse indoor and outdoor areas to reach Baramos. The main outdoor area, "Surroundings," serves as a central hub. The following outlines the main path to the boss:

Reaching Baramos:

  1. Upon entering from the overworld, bypass the main entrance. Instead, circumnavigate the castle's eastern side towards the northeastern pool.
  2. Ascend the stairs to the pool, turn left (west), and find another staircase. Proceed to the door on your right.
  3. Inside the Eastern Tower, reach the top and exit.
  4. On the castle roof, traverse southwest, descend stairs, and navigate west through gaps in the northwestern double wall. Use the northwestern staircase.
  5. The staircase leads to the Central Tower. Use Safe Passage to cross electrified floor panels and descend to B1 Passageway A.
  6. In B1 Passageway A, turn east and locate the easternmost staircase.
  7. In the South-East Tower, head northeast to the staircase, ascend to the roof, and then head west to the next staircase down. Cross the grass northwest and enter the only door.
  8. This leads to the Central Tower's northeast section. Exit through the only available path.
  9. In B1 Passageway B, proceed north and ascend the stairs.
  10. Enter the Throne Room. Avoid floor panels and exit south.
  11. Back in the "Surroundings," locate the northeast structure on the lake island – Baramos's Den, where the boss awaits.
