EA's eagerly anticipated free-to-play skateboarding game, Skate (stylized as skate.), is now open for playtesting on consoles. Here’s everything you need to know to secure your spot in the beta!
After its initial announcement in June 2020 and periodic teasers, skate. has finally launched its console playtesting phase on PlayStation and Xbox! While there's no confirmed date yet for the PC beta, fans can still register as an Insider to stay informed.
According to the game’s official X (Twitter) account, console playtesting has been ongoing since at least December, with some evidence suggesting it might have started as early as September, as shown in a highlight reel. Despite this, Full Circle, the developer behind skate., continues to invite more fans to join the playtesting as the game is still in active development.

To participate in the beta and experience skate. before its official release, head over to EA's official website and visit the Skate page to register for the Skate Insider Playtesting. Not only will you get early access to the game, but as an Insider, you'll also receive exclusive rewards, including an in-game skateboard and stickers, upon the Early Access launch.
skate. is slated to enter Early Access in 2025. This latest installment in the franchise arrives nearly a decade after Skate 3 and will be available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Set in the fictional city of San Vansterdam, skate. aims to be a free-to-play, live-service game, promising an "authentic evolution" of the nearly 20-year-old series, as highlighted by Full Circle in a previous interview on their YouTube channel.
