Fans of From Software's iconic cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, might be surprised to learn that the series' infamous poisonous swamps will not be making an appearance. This revelation comes directly from the project's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent discussion with journalists. Although a swamp-like area was spotted in the *Elden Ring Nightreign* trailer, Kitao clarified that it represents an entirely different location. The absence of these notorious zones is attributed to the lack of involvement from Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is renowned for his affection towards swamp environments. It's his influence that brought these challenging areas into *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series, but Miyazaki did not participate in the development of this new game.

In other news, *Elden Ring Nightreign* may see the introduction of an additional two-player mode. Currently, the game is set to feature both one-player and three-player modes, with the developers citing content balancing issues as the reason for initially excluding a two-player option. However, From Software is now contemplating the inclusion of this mode, though no definitive decision has been reached yet.
Mark your calendars: *Elden Ring Nightreign* is slated for release on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and two generations of consoles.
