Baldur's Gate 3 is brimming with secrets, and Larian Studios continues to unveil them gradually. Dataminers have uncovered numerous hidden elements, including a particularly intriguing ending.
This previously discovered evil ending has resurfaced during testing of the game's eighth major patch. In this ending, the player character forcefully removes and destroys the illithid parasite, surviving unharmed. A subsequent branching path presents two options: the hero departs with their companions, or the hero leaves their companions behind.
Many players speculate that this ending will be fully implemented with the release of the eighth patch.
Recent layoffs at BioWare, the studio behind Dragon Age: The Veilguard, have fueled conversations about the state of the gaming industry. In contrast, Michael Daus, Larian Studios' publishing director, remains active on social media, recently commenting on these industry-wide layoffs. He emphasized the importance of valuing employees and argued that leadership should bear the brunt of financial difficulties rather than laying off large portions of development teams between or after projects. He stressed the critical importance of retaining institutional knowledge for future projects.
