While friendships can be forged with nearly everyone in *Fields of Mistria*, romance is a special path reserved for select NPCs. With the v0.13.0 update, you can choose from 11 romanceable characters, including the intriguing Caldarus.

Each romanceable NPC has a heart meter that fills based on your interactions. To foster a romance with a specific character, regular interaction is key. **Engage in daily conversations** with them as you go about your town duties. These daily chats are a simple yet effective way to increase their affection. Additionally, make sure to complete any requests they post on the town board, as these tasks directly contribute to boosting their heart gauge.

Gifting is another powerful tool at your disposal. You can **give them a gift once per day**, ideally something they love or like. These items vary between characters and can be gathered or crafted. On their birthday, presenting a gift they love is especially impactful. Consistent engagement and thoughtful gifting will rapidly elevate their heart gauge.

Keep in mind that currently, NPC heart gauges max out at **six hearts**. After reaching this level, a cutscene will play, hinting at a budding romance, though not yet fully realized.

According to the game’s roadmap, future updates will introduce 8 and 10-heart events for romanceable NPCs, along with options for marriage and children. So, rest assured, your budding romance in Mistria has a bright future ahead.

Juniper, one of the romanceable characters, can often be found either searching for mystical ingredients or managing her bathhouse in the northeastern part of town. To win her heart, focus on visiting her regularly, completing her town board requests, and presenting her with thoughtful daily gifts.

Juniper has a variety of items she "likes" and "loves". On her birthday, the **26th day of Fall**, ensure you gift her something she "loves" to maximize the heart gauge boost. Avoid giving her items she dislikes, which include all universal dislikes and **Sod**.

You can monitor the status of Juniper's heart gauge at any time via the heart icon tab in your journal.
