In Freedom Wars Remastered, every action you take is geared towards reducing your initial million-year sentence, a burden you bear from birth. While you're constantly working to shorten your prison term, you're also focused on elevating your CODE level to streamline your life as a sinner.
Your CODE level unlocks additional Entitlements, which simplify gameplay by allowing you to run longer or enhance your comrades and gear, making battles against Abductors much more manageable. As you progress, you'll navigate through several CODE levels. Let's dive into the specifics.
There are a total of eight CODE levels in Freedom Wars Remastered for players to advance through. Once you elevate your CODE level, there's no going back, so you don't have to worry about inadvertently increasing your prison sentence beyond what's necessary for your current CODE, especially in Deadly Sinner Mode. Each time you level up your CODE, you'll gain access to more Entitlements to purchase and new operations to tackle.
To check how to upgrade your CODE level, simply talk to your Accessory in your cell and select "Check CODE Upgrade Conditions". Typically, you'll need to reduce your prison sentence to certain year milestones and unlock specific Entitlements. It's wise to review this menu frequently from your cell to avoid spending all your Entitlement Points on less critical upgrades, as you might need to donate resources to earn more.
Donating just one high-end resource or weapon can often provide enough points for numerous Entitlements.
Advancing your CODE level isn't just about meeting these conditions; it's also intertwined with the main storyline. You must complete main story missions and operations alongside those conditions to pass the CODE exam, which is part of the narrative. At times, the main story can serve as an alternative to the CODE exam to reach the next level.
Operations are categorized by CODE levels, serving as a general difficulty indicator. You'll complete most operations as you progress through the story within a CODE, though some optional operations may become available afterward to assist those who aren't fully prepared for the challenges of their new CODE level.
