PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have officially announced the release date for the highly anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, titled Ghost of Yōtei. On April 23, a new trailer titled "The Onryō’s List" was released, offering a glimpse into the game's gripping narrative and dynamic gameplay. The trailer concludes with the exciting reveal of the game's launch date: October 2, 2025.

In Ghost of Yōtei, you'll step into the shoes of Atsu, set in the heart of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), on a quest for vengeance against the notorious Yōtei Six. This group of outlaws, responsible for the murder of her family and leaving her for dead, includes The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito. Atsu's mission is to hunt them down one by one.

This standalone sequel is set 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. Earlier this year, the developers shared insights into the game's new features, including an array of new weapons, mechanics, and more, building upon the success of its predecessor.

Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way

Ghost of Yōtei offers players the freedom to hunt down the Yōtei Six in any order they choose, crafting their unique path of revenge. Sucker Punch detailed these features on the PlayStation.blog on April 23, providing more depth into Atsu’s journey and how players can explore it.

The game introduces an evolved way to explore the open world, offering greater freedom and variety than Ghost of Tsushima. Beyond the main quest, players can track other dangerous targets, claim bounties, and seek out weapon sensei to learn new skills. Familiar activities from the previous game, like the beloved "Guiding Wind," return, and a new campfire mechanic allows players to set up camp anywhere in the vast open world of Ezo. The developers are focused on providing players with the freedom to choose their adventures in this expansive landscape, with more details to be shared in the coming months.
