The gaming world is abuzz with anticipation for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6, which is still slated for a Fall 2025 release. During their Q3 Earnings Conference Call on February 7, 2025, Take-Two Interactive provided updates on their current status and future plans, including the much-awaited GTA 6.

Take-Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, expressed strong confidence in the Fall 2025 release for GTA 6. However, he acknowledged the inherent risks in game development, humorously noting, "Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things." Despite this, Zelnick remains optimistic, stating, "We feel really good about it," in reference to the expected release window. He refrained from sharing specifics about GTA 6's development but emphasized Rockstar's pursuit of perfection, saying, "We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited."

Zelnick highlighted the monumental year 2025 promises to be for Take-Two Interactive, with a lineup of major game releases. He stated, "Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two, as Sid Meier’s Civilization VII launched in Early Access today, with the official launch on February 11th, and we also plan to release Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, Grand Theft Auto VI in the Fall, and Borderlands 4 before year-end."

Regarding the commercial outlook for these titles, Zelnick is exceedingly optimistic, believing that they "will have a transformative effect on our business – and our industry – over the long term." Take-Two Interactive is also looking forward to achieving record levels of Net Bookings in Fiscal 2026 and 2027.

The GTA franchise remains a powerhouse for Take-Two Interactive, with GTA 5 selling over 210 million units worldwide. GTA Online also had a stellar quarter, bolstered by its holiday update, Agents of Sabotage. The GTA+ membership program for GTA Online saw a 10% year-to-year increase in its subscriber base.

Other Take-Two Interactive titles also performed well in the third quarter. NBA 2K25 sold over 7 million units and experienced increased player engagement, with "Recurrent Consumer Spending up over 30%, Daily Active Users up nearly 20%, and Monthly Active Users up nearly 10%." Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to expand its audience, selling over 70 million units to date. GTA 5 Actor Does Not Hate His Character

Rumors have circulated that Steven Ogg, the actor behind Trevor in GTA 5, dislikes being associated with the character. In an interview on the Inside You podcast, Ogg set the record straight, clarifying that he does not hate his character but finds it strange when fans call him by his character's name. He said, "When people call you by your character name, it's kinda weird because I kinda get it, but I'm also like meh." Ogg praised Trevor, stating, "He's a great character. He's awesome. I still see [Fonteno, Franklin's actor] and Ned [Luke, Michael's actor], we're friends. We were just doing a Comic Con this past weekend."

In a previous interview with Screen Rant, Ogg speculated about Trevor's potential appearance in GTA 6, suggesting a dramatic entrance and exit at the game's beginning. However, he confirmed that he has not recorded anything for GTA 6 and has no information on whether Trevor will return.

GTA 6 is set to launch in Fall 2025, though no specific release date has been announced. Stay updated with the latest news on Grand Theft Auto 6 by visiting our dedicated page.
