Guide: Acquiring Tiered Armaments in Avowed

Upgrading your weapons in Avowed is crucial for survival. Early game weapons are Common (I), but you'll quickly encounter Level II enemies requiring Fine (II) gear. Here's how to obtain and upgrade to Tier II/Fine weapons and armor.

Upgrading from Common (I) to Fine (II):

Gear in Avowed has a Quality level indicated by a descriptor, color, and Roman numeral (I, II, etc.), plus three sub-levels (+1 to +3). To upgrade from Common (I) to Fine (II), you must first upgrade through +1, +2, and +3 at a Party Camp workbench. Each upgrade requires specific materials depending on the gear type. Finally, upgrading to Fine (II) requires Adra, a rare crystal obtained from quests, merchants, or by dismantling Unique items.

Finding and Purchasing Fine (II) Weapons and Armor:

While upgrading is effective, it's resource-intensive. Fine (II) gear can occasionally spawn on Level II enemies, especially Bounties, in Dawnshore. However, Common gear is less effective against these foes, so carry ample health potions.

A more reliable method is purchasing Fine (II) items from merchants in Paradis. Access to Paradis is granted after defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss in Dawnshore. Two sisters operate nearby stalls; one (Merlylin) sells magical items, while the other offers standard weapons and armor (pictured above).

This guide covers the primary methods for acquiring Fine (II) weapons and armor in Avowed.
