We're thrilled to unveil the first glimpse of DC Studios' latest venture, "Lanterns," an HBO Original Series featuring not one, but two Green Lanterns. The show stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. In the newly released images, while the iconic emerald green suits are absent, keen-eyed fans can spot a Power Ring adorning Chandler's hand, hinting at the thrilling adventures to come.

"Lanterns" promises to be a gripping detective drama, drawing inspiration from acclaimed series like "True Detective" and "Slow Horses." The plot follows Chandler's Hal Jordan and Pierre's John Stewart as they team up to unravel a murder mystery that plunges them into an even more sinister enigma. This series is a cornerstone of James Gunn's expansive DC universe, which also encompasses "Creature Commando," and the eagerly awaited films "Superman" and "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow."

The creative minds behind "Lanterns" include Damon Lindelof, renowned for "Lost," alongside Chris Mundy and Tom King. James Gunn has described the show's tone as "very grounded, very believable, very real," promising a narrative that defies traditional expectations of a Green Lantern series.

Kyle Chandler, celebrated for his role in "Friday Night Lights," brings to life an older version of Hal Jordan, while Aaron Pierre, known for his performance in "Rebel Ridge," steps into the role of John Stewart. "Lanterns" is slated to premiere in 2026, coinciding with the release of the "Supergirl" movie, setting the stage for an exciting year for DC fans.
