Harrison Ford, the iconic actor behind Indiana Jones, has expressed his approval of Troy Baker's portrayal of the character in the video game "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle." In a candid interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine, Ford humorously remarked, "You don’t need artificial intelligence to steal my soul. You can already do it for nickels and dimes with good ideas and talent." He praised Baker's performance, noting that it was achieved without the use of AI, emphasizing the power of genuine talent and creativity.

"Indiana Jones and the Great Circle" was released in December and has been described as an "authentic" addition to the franchise, though not necessarily part of the official canon. This release followed the 2023 film "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," which did not fare well with audiences. Given the positive reception of the game, there is speculation that the franchise's creators might lean more towards this new direction, potentially moving away from having Ford reprise his role.

Ford, known for his roles in "Star Wars," "Indiana Jones," and soon in the Marvel universe, joins a chorus of creatives who are critical of AI in media. Tim Burton has called AI-generated art "very disturbing," while Nicolas Cage has labeled it a "dead end." Voice actors have also voiced their concerns, with Ned Luke from "Grand Theft Auto 5" condemning a chatbot that used his voice, and Doug Cockle, known for "The Witcher," telling IGN that AI is "inevitable" but "dangerous," as it threatens to rob voice actors of their income.
