Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered not only thrills with its action-packed gameplay but also enriches your experience with extensive weapon and outfit customization. You can craft one outfit perfect for stealthily navigating around machines, while another might excel in melee or ranged combat scenarios.
There will be moments when you'll crave the combined power of multiple outfits. Fortunately, the game allows this, albeit with certain restrictions. This guide will walk you through the process.
To enjoy the benefits of dual outfit effects, you'll need the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered version. A recent update introduced the transmog feature, which lets you retain the stats and effects of one outfit while displaying the appearance of another. This means you can look stylish without sacrificing performance.
To harness the power of two outfits, there are key points to consider. This method is not compatible with all outfits. While you can choose any outfit for your primary, the secondary must be one of the following:
These outfits are only accessible in the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you can't use this method right at the game's start. The good news? You don't need to finish the main game to access the DLC.
Start by entering the expansion area after defeating the new machine. If you find it challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear. Once in the area, find a Bluegleam Merchant (identified by a blue Merchant icon) and buy the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear, as this mission is demanding. Alternatively, switch to Story mode for an easier completion. The Adept version is available in New Game Plus, using the same acquisition method.
Once you have the second outfit, you're ready to go. You don't need to delve further into the Frozen Wilds content unless you wish to.
Start by equipping your preferred outfit, focusing on the stats you need. Enhance these stats with Weaves if necessary. Then, use the transmog feature to overlay the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. Although these outfits don't add to your stats, they offer automatic healing after sustaining damage for a period.
This technique lets you maintain your chosen outfit's stats while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If you're wearing the Shield Weaver outfit, you're nearly invincible, taking damage rarely, and when you do, the Banuk Werak outfits' healing perk will swiftly kick in.
The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits' healing perk activates much faster than the Banuk Werak Runner's, making them the preferred choice if available.
