Spanish indie studio Patrones & Escondites returns with another captivating puzzle mystery. It's Your House: A Hidden Truth, a narrative thriller where you, as a teenager, unravel the unsettling secrets hidden within your own home.
The game is available now on Android, iOS, and PC via Steam. It blends interactive fiction with escape-room-inspired puzzles and is free to play. Imagine it as a playable novel or a game you can read.
Set in the 1990s, Your House: A Hidden Truth follows Debbie, an 18-year-old experiencing her worst birthday ever. She's been expelled, her best friend has turned on her, and she's hit by a car on her way home.
Just as the night seems impossibly bleak, a mysterious envelope materializes in her room at midnight. Inside lies an antique key, a cryptic postcard, and an unfamiliar address.
With nothing more to lose, she steals a motorcycle and races toward the unknown. What she discovers is a vast, ominous house brimming with locked doors, concealed passages, and a dark, untold story.
The house itself is one giant puzzle. While exploring, Debbie encounters bizarre objects and pieces together the intertwined lives of three individuals whose pasts are inextricably linked to this place.
Take a first look at the game below.
Fans of Unmemory will recognize the studio's distinctive narrative approach. While acting as a prequel, Your House is a completely standalone experience, requiring no previous knowledge of their other games.
The title draws inspiration from real-world enigmas, such as a famous Manhattan apartment designed by architect Eric Clough that contained hidden compartments and secret messages.
Featuring a vibrant pop art and comic book aesthetic, Your House: A Hidden Truth explores themes of identity, ambition, and the hidden costs of chasing dreams as its central mystery unfolds. If you enjoy text-based interactive stories, you can download it now from the Google Play Store.
