LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: an impressive T-rex skeleton that measures over three feet in length. This set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park film, where the skeleton is prominently displayed in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available for purchase at the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public.
Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
Comprising 3,145 pieces, this set is tailored for the 18+ age group, making it an ideal display piece rather than a play set. It may incorporate advanced building techniques, which could be challenging for younger builders. While pictures might not fully convey its scale, the included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler provide some perspective. The skeleton's skull bears a striking resemblance to the LEGO T-rex skull set currently available, which my son assembled and found visually appealing. The addition of the full skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of this new set.

The T-rex skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. The head can move, the jaw opens, and the arms and tail can be adjusted. As with many LEGO sets inspired by movies, this one includes hidden Easter eggs to discover during assembly. The set also comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

Although LEGO's Jurassic World collection is not as extensive as its LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Harry Potter lines, it is rapidly expanding. As a fan, I am eager to see more adult-oriented LEGO sets like this T-rex skeleton included in the future.
