Upcoming Updates for Marvel Rivals

Team-Up Skills: A New Era

Marvel Rivals Season 2 Brings More Team-Up Skills and Skins

Game Director Guangyun Chen revealed in a March 14th interview with PC Gamer that Season 2 will introduce brand-new team-up skills alongside adjustments to existing ones. This overhaul aims to create a fresh and dynamic combat experience, impacting gameplay significantly. With the current roster boasting 17 team-up skills (including favorites like Ragnarok Rebirth and Lunar Force), the balancing act for NetEase will be considerable.

Hero Balancing: A Continuous Challenge

Chen also shed light on the ongoing hero balancing process. NetEase uses a data-driven approach, analyzing win rates, pick rates, damage output, and other key metrics across various game modes and ranks. Player feedback plays a crucial role in shaping these adjustments. With the addition of a new hero every half-season (a commitment to eight new heroes annually), maintaining balance will be a constant challenge for the development team.

Chen confirmed that Season 2 content is finalized, and development on Seasons 3 and 4 is well underway. This underscores NetEase’s long-term commitment to Marvel Rivals, previously stated to receive support for at least 10 years.

Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man Arrive March 20th

NetEase announced via the official Marvel Rivals Twitter (X) account on March 18th the arrival of highly anticipated skins for Spider-Man and Iron Man on March 20th at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21st at 2:00 AM UTC. Spider-Man gets a futuristic "Spider-Punk 2099" makeover, complete with a digital mask, spiked mohawk, and electric guitar. Iron Man’s "Steam Power" skin boasts a steampunk aesthetic with impressive visual details. Both skins were previously available during the closed beta, generating significant fan excitement. While the release date is set, pricing details remain undisclosed.

With Season 1 wrapping up and Season 2 on the horizon, Marvel Rivals continues to evolve. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates!
