*Suits* has been a beloved show since its debut on USA in 2011, captivating audiences for nearly 15 years. Its resurgence on Netflix in recent years fueled countless binge-watching sessions, yet this momentum couldn't propel the new spin-off, *Suits LA*, to success. The series was abruptly canceled as NBC unveiled its fall schedule, leaving fans curious about the reasons behind this decision.

Jeff Bader, the president of program planning strategy at NBC, shed light on the cancellation. "It's challenging to decide which shows to renew," he stated in an interview with Variety after the fall schedule was released. "Suits LA had a brief run, but it didn't connect with audiences the way we anticipated."

Bader elaborated on the factors contributing to the show's lack of resonance. "There are numerous reasons why a show might not capture viewers, and while speculation abounds, *Suits LA* simply didn't demonstrate the potential for future growth."

We looked at which ones showed promise for future growth, assessing their stability and trends. Unfortunately, we had to make tough calls."

Bader also mentioned that NBCUniversal considers transferring canceled shows to Peacock, but *Suits LA* did not receive approval for such a move.

As for the shows that survived the cut, Bader outlined the criteria: "We evaluated their week-to-week and episode-to-episode performance on both linear and digital platforms to identify the strongest contenders. Our creative teams also assessed which shows had the best potential to attract new audiences. These were the factors that led us to retain certain shows."

*Suits* originally ran for nine seasons from 2011 to 2019. The revival series, *Suits LA*, premiered in February, featuring Stephen Amell, Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg. Notable original cast members like Rick Hoffman, David Costabile, and Gabriel Macht made guest appearances. Aaron Korsh, the creator of *Suits*, also served as the creator and executive producer of the spin-off, which concluded its run with its final episode on May 11, 2025.
