While a Nintendo Switch version of Palworld isn't entirely off the table, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe has voiced concerns regarding the technical challenges involved in porting the game.

In a recent interview, Mizobe discussed the difficulties of bringing Palworld to the Switch, citing technical limitations stemming from the game's demanding PC specifications. While discussions about potential new platforms are ongoing, Pocketpair currently has no announcements to make regarding future releases.
Despite these challenges, Mizobe remains optimistic about expanding Palworld's reach to new platforms. He previously acknowledged the significant performance difference between the PC and Switch versions, highlighting the technical hurdles. The possibility of PlayStation, Nintendo, or mobile releases remains unconfirmed. Earlier this year, Mizobe confirmed discussions regarding additional platform releases. He also clarified that while open to partnerships and acquisitions, Pocketpair isn't currently in buyout talks with Microsoft.

Mizobe also shared his vision for expanding Palworld's multiplayer aspects. An upcoming arena mode, described as an experiment, is a stepping stone towards a more robust PvP experience. Mizobe expressed a desire to incorporate elements reminiscent of popular survival games like Ark and Rust, emphasizing the competitive and cooperative gameplay those titles offer. Ark and Rust are known for their challenging environments, intricate resource management, and extensive player interaction, including alliances and tribal dynamics, blending both PvE and PvP elements.

Palworld, Pocketpair's unique blend of creature collection and survival shooter gameplay, has achieved remarkable success since its launch. The game's initial month saw 15 million PC copies sold and 10 million players on Xbox via Game Pass. A significant update, the free Sakurajima update, is slated for release on Thursday, introducing a new island, the highly anticipated PvP arena, and other additions.
