PGA Tour 2K25 has unveiled the cover athletes and artwork for the latest installment in the acclaimed golf sports simulation series. Following Justin Thomas on the cover of PGA Tour 2K21 and Tiger Woods on PGA Tour 2K23, the new game showcases three prominent players: Tiger Woods, Max Homa, and Matt Fitzpatrick.
Originally launched as The Golf Club in 2014, the series saw subsequent releases in 2017 and 2018 before being rebranded as PGA Tour for the 2K21 and 2K23 editions. With the closure of 13 EA games in 2025, including Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, golf enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the arrival of PGA Tour 2K25.
The cover art for both the Standard and Deluxe Editions of PGA Tour 2K25 was announced on the game's official Twitter account. Tiger Woods, an 82-time PGA Tour winner, headlines the cover, joined by Max Homa, with six PGA Tour wins, and Matt Fitzpatrick, with two PGA Tour victories. The stunning watercolor-style artwork has heightened anticipation for the game, which follows in the footsteps of critically acclaimed titles like PGA Tour 2K21 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005.
PGA Tour 2K25 is slated for release on February 28, 2025, a date that has been well-received by golfing gamers. Fans have praised the decision to space out releases, contrasting with the yearly launches common in other sports games. After a three-year hiatus since the last game, the community has warmly embraced the new artwork, describing it as "gorgeous." The standard cover featuring Woods’ iconic US Open celebratory pose has been particularly appreciated. In fact, Woods' prominence in the sport led one fan to humorously suggest he might grace the cover of a future 2K38 edition.
Meanwhile, 2K has been actively updating its basketball title, NBA 2K25, with the first 2025 update preparing for Season 4. This patch included player likeness updates, court fixes, and enhanced gameplay features such as detailed shot feedback, realism adjustments, and defensive mechanics. Additionally, stability fixes, progression adjustments, and visual updates were implemented across MyCAREER, MyTEAM, and MyNBA modes.
