It may feel like we've gone back to the Stone Age during the Primitive weekly challenge in Phasmophobia, but I don’t think cavemen needed to worry about ghosts haunting them. We’ll need to get in and out without our electronics, but can we make that happen?

The Primitive Challenge is one of Phasmophobia's most challenging weekly tasks currently available in the game. As its name implies, you must identify the ghost and complete the investigations without any electronic assistance. This limitation forces you to rely heavily on your intuition and understanding of ghost behavior.
This challenge must be completed at 10 Ridgeview Court, a house-style map that's easier to navigate and find safety in compared to other maps. Remember, like all weekly challenges, you need to successfully complete three investigations to fully conquer the Primitive Challenge.
Each weekly challenge in Phasmophobia comes with unique rules and conditions. The Primitive Challenge is no exception, particularly with the restricted loadout you're given.
As previously noted, you'll be without electronics, which means no Flashlights, DOTs Projectors, Video Cameras, or any other typical ghost-hunting gadgets. Additionally, Sanity Medication is unavailable, but you start with a full Sanity meter to offer some initial protection against ghost activity. Your equipment includes two Tier 1 Crucifixes to prevent up to two ghost hunts if placed correctly, Tier 2 Firelights, and a full set of Tier 1 Incense for added protection.
For evidence gathering, your options are limited to two Tier 3 Ghost Writing books and two Tier 1 "glowstick" UV lights, which double as your light source and ultraviolet evidence tools. You also have two Tier 1 thermometers to detect freezing temperatures.
To succeed, you'll need to tap into your paranormal intuition and recognize the unique behavioral traits of each ghost. Our no-evidence cheat sheet can be a valuable resource in this regard.
To approach the investigation effectively, your first step should be to locate the ghost as quickly as possible. Without access to the house's fuse box, your sanity is at greater risk in the dark. Fortunately, the ghost in this challenge has increased activity, making it easier to track down.
Alternatively, you can use the provided Cursed Object, the Ouija Board, found in the laundry room on the first floor, left of the dining area. Ask the ghost its "favorite room," but be aware this will cost you 50% of your sanity. Always remember to say "Goodbye" to the board to avoid triggering a Cursed Hunt. This method is particularly useful in group settings for added safety.
To participate in a weekly challenge in Phasmophobia, start by selecting either Singleplayer or Multiplayer. Navigate to your Difficulty Settings, located above your profile ID. Scroll to find the 'Challenge Mode' difficulty and its description, then select 'Apply' and return to the main menu. Choose 10 Ridgeview Court from the map board selection screen, as the challenge doesn't automatically select the location for you. The loadout is pre-selected and cannot be changed. When ready, select 'Ready Up' and 'Start' to begin the challenge.
