Plants vs Zombies 16th Anniversary: Discounts and More

Plants vs Zombies is celebrating its 16th anniversary, and the team from Neighborville is throwing a bash to remember! It all started sixteen years ago when the first peashooter took aim, marking the beginning of an epic backyard battle.

Discounts to Celebrate Plants vs Zombies Sweet 16

To commemorate this milestone, EA is rolling out some sweet deals. In the PvZ shop, Dave's Secret Stash is slashing prices with up to 33% off on packs. Plus, there's up to 20% off on Mini Games, giving players even more reasons to plant those peas and chomp those brains.

Alongside the discounts, the developers are sharing heartwarming behind-the-scenes stories. These narratives come from the creators who brought the game to life and from dedicated fans who've been defending their lawns since day one. The focus is on the game's quirky characters and the endless barrage of plant puns that fans adore.

But the highlight of the Plants vs Zombies Sweet 16 celebration is the official video tribute to the community. This fun-filled video features zombies disco-dancing and teleporting, showcasing the joy the game has brought over the years.

Did You Know?

Back in 2009, Plants vs Zombies made its debut on desktops courtesy of Popcap Games. It was quirky, humorous, and instantly addictive. The sight of sunflowers beaming while zombies in traffic cones shuffled across the lawn captured players' hearts right away.

The game then made the leap to mobile devices in 2010, and by 2012, EA had acquired Popcap. In 2013, the sequel, Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time, was released, introducing new worlds and zany mechanics to the mix.

Currently, Plants vs Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia has been in development since 2020. After a soft launch and subsequent rework, the team is working on a fresh art style and aims to recapture the classic tower defense feel that fans loved.
