Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for its iOS and Android mobile launch. This Tencent-developed title, set for a late January 2025 release, blends missions, multiple game modes, and tactical gameplay, marking a significant entry into the modern military shooter market.
While the Delta Force franchise might be unfamiliar to some, its history is deeply rooted in FPS gaming, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the US military's elite Delta Force unit, the game series is known for its realistic action, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry.
Tencent's Level Infinite has masterfully revived the franchise. The game features a Warfare mode offering large-scale combat reminiscent of Battlefield, and an Operations mode focused on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign, heavily influenced by the 2001 film Black Hawk Down, and based on the Battle of Mogadishu, is also slated for release in 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy surrounding cheating. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, implemented for the PC version, have drawn criticism. While less prevalent on mobile platforms, these concerns may still impact player interest. However, the reduced likelihood of cheating on mobile could allow Delta Force to meet its potential.
