Sony has announced an increase in the recommended retail prices (RRPs) for PlayStation 5 consoles across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, effective from April 14. This decision comes in response to the challenging economic climate, characterized by high inflation and fluctuating exchange rates. The new pricing was officially confirmed through a post on the PlayStation Blog.
Here are the updated RRPs for the PS5 models:

UK:
Australia:
New Zealand:
Notably, the price of the PS5 Pro has not been affected by these changes.
This move follows similar price adjustments made in 2022, resulting in the PS5 now being significantly pricier in many regions compared to its initial launch prices. In Europe and the UK, the PS5 Digital Edition has seen an increase of €100 and £70 respectively from its launch prices of €400 and £360. In Australia, the standard PS5 has risen by AUD $80 from AUD $750, while the digital edition has gone up by AUD $150 from AUD $600. New Zealand has experienced a price hike of NZD $130 for the standard PS5 from NZD $820, and a NZD $210 increase for the digital version from NZD $650.
In contrast, the RRP for the PS5 disc drive is set to decrease to €80 in Europe, £70 in the UK, AUD $125 in Australia, and NZD $140 in New Zealand.
