According to renowned journalist Jason Schreier, the acclaimed studio Rocksteady is currently developing a brand-new single-player Batman game. While details remain under wraps, Schreier has not confirmed if it will be a prequel, a direct continuation of the beloved Arkham saga, or an entirely new universe. However, an insider source suggests that the game could be "Batman Beyond," immersing players in a futuristic Gotham. The ambitious plan is to create a full-blown trilogy, with the game set to launch on the next generation of consoles.

The Arkham series was celebrated for its stunning visuals, and a futuristic Gotham could be Rocksteady’s most visually striking creation to date. The potential shift to Batman Beyond also addresses a poignant challenge: the iconic voice of Batman. With the passing of the legendary Kevin Conroy in 2022, the studio might pivot to feature Terry McGinnis or Damian Wayne as the new Batman, similar to what Warner Bros. Montreal had envisioned for its canceled sequel to Batman: Arkham Knight.

Rocksteady's last project, an online shooter, did not meet player expectations and ultimately flopped. The studio had to abandon its post-launch plans within a year, culminating in a hastily produced animation that reversed several controversial plot points and revealed that the fallen heroes were actually clones.

Now, Rocksteady is returning to its roots by crafting a new solo Batman adventure. However, insiders caution that fans will need to wait several years before this project hits the screens.
