Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director and Ironheart executive producer Ryan Coogler has stated he has "no clue" when the characters from the spin-off will return.
Ironheart recently concluded its limited two-week run on Disney+, leaving several major cliffhangers that cast uncertainty over the future of its characters. When questioned by Variety about the next possible appearance of Ironheart's protagonist Riri Williams—potentially in the forthcoming Black Panther 3, which Coogler is currently scripting—the director professed to be completely in the dark.
"I genuinely don't have the slightest idea. I just pulled an all-nighter working on the X-Files," Coogler remarked, alluding to another ongoing project: a reboot of The X-Files television series.
"I'm fully supportive of whatever Chinaka Hodge, the head writer of Ironheart, has planned next, and whatever Kevin Feige has in store for us," Coogler continued. "I believe the audience will respond strongly to that finale, and I'm eager to see those characters return."
