In May of 2015, Nintendo boldly ventured into new realms of entertainment by announcing a groundbreaking partnership with Universal Parks & Resorts. This collaboration aimed to bring the magic of Nintendo's beloved games and characters to life through meticulously crafted theme parks. Fast forward a decade, and this vision has spectacularly materialized as Super Nintendo World. Spanning across Japan, Los Angeles, Florida, and soon to be in Singapore, these parks are a kaleidoscope of thrilling rides, engaging interactive experiences, charming gift shops, and character-inspired dining that immerse fans in the heart of Nintendo's universe.
With the anticipation building for the launch of Universal's Epic Universe in Orlando, Florida, and the exciting addition of the Donkey Kong Country expansion marking its American debut, I had the privilege of sitting down with the legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. As the mastermind behind iconic characters such as Super Mario and Donkey Kong, Miyamoto shared insights on the journey of bringing these parks to life, his collaboration with the next generation of Nintendo game developers, and his enthusiasm for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console. His passion for expanding Nintendo's world into real-life adventures underscores the innovative spirit driving these projects forward.
