As you embark on your journey with Khazan, you'll need to keep an eye out for more than just the enemies lying in ambush. The game world is scattered with various items, including treasure chests, guarded or hard-to-reach pick-ups, and the red, glowing Soulstones. These stones are crucial and can be found throughout each level, often requiring some platforming skills and keen observation to locate them. Rather than marveling at them, you must destroy each Soulstone using either melee attacks or ranged attacks with the Javelin.

Once you gain access to the hub zone, The Crevice, and its portals, which allow travel to past and new levels, you'll be able to track the number of Soulstones available on each level.

Every Soulstone you destroy contributes to a total that can be utilized through the NPC Daphrona. You'll first meet Daphrona in the Embars Ruins – Forgotten Temple level. She'll explain the situation regarding the Netherworld and the leaking energy. After successfully clearing the level, Daphrona will relocate to The Crevice and become accessible in the Nether realm.

When you speak to Daphrona, you'll have the option to "Unleash Soulstones." Depending on the number of Soulstones you've collected, you can enhance Khazan in various ways. The primary options include increasing your Lacrima Gain, which aids in leveling up and stat boosts, or boosting the amount of health you recover each time you use Netherworld Energy. Additionally, there may be other valuable buffs, such as attack or recovery enhancements, designed to give you an edge in facing Khazan's challenges. It's beneficial to return to Daphrona regularly to check if you've gathered enough Soulstones for another upgrade.
