Fans of the web-slinger are in for a treat as the Disney+ animated series, "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man," which follows Peter Parker during his first year of high school, has been officially renewed for both Season 2 and Season 3. This exciting news comes ahead of the Season 1 premiere, set for tomorrow, January 29.
In an insightful interview with The Movie Podcast, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, shared that the scripts for Season 2 are already complete, and the team is halfway through the animatics. "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters and I've now read all of the scripts for Season 2; we're halfway through the animatics," Winderbaum expressed, showing his deep connection to the project. He praised the work of lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell, noting the meticulous storytelling that starts to pay off significantly by the end of Season 1. "What [Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off. And you feel it in Season 1. You grow connected to these characters so that when everything starts to lock into place and pay off by the end of the season. I feel it in my very soul and it just gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons."
