Stalker 2: Guide to Acquiring the Cavalier Rifle

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl offers a diverse array of weapons tailored to suit various playstyles. Among the standard arsenal, players can unearth unique (named) variants equipped with special modifications or enhanced power. One such gem is the Cavalier, a sniper rifle distinguished by its red-dot sight instead of a traditional magnification scope, making it exceptionally lethal at short to medium ranges. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to acquire this exceptional weapon.

How to Get the Unique Cavalier Rifle in Stalker 2

Players can secure the Cavalier Sniper Rifle within the Duga base near the Military Unit in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The weapon is stashed in a warehouse connected to a greenhouse. If you've previously accessed the Duga base to retrieve the Journalist's stash, re-entry should be straightforward through the second entrance.

Getting Inside the Warehouse Near the Military Unit of Duga Base

Upon entering the Duga base, navigate towards the Military Unit building, which is marked on your map. Your objective isn't to enter the building itself but to skirt around it to reach the greenhouse at the rear. Exercise caution as two Pseudogiants patrol this area and will attack on sight. Approach the greenhouse stealthily to evade these formidable mutants.

Proceed through the greenhouse to access the interior of the warehouse. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by swarms of rats that will nibble away at your health. To escape their relentless assault, climb onto the elevated green platforms located at the back of the warehouse. A well-placed grenade can effectively eliminate the rat swarm.

Break the Wooden Boards & Grab the Cavalier Rifle

Once the rat threat is neutralized, direct your attention to the ceiling above the entryway connecting to the greenhouse. You'll notice wooden boards painted yellow. Use your weapon to shoot these boards, causing the Cavalier sniper rifle to drop from its concealed perch.

Retrieve the weapon and make a safe exit from the Duga base. For further enhancement, take the Cavalier to Screw, the technician at Rostok base, who can upgrade it to maximize its damage and accuracy. These upgrades, combined with the rifle's inherent red-dot sight, make the Cavalier an excellent choice for players who prefer close to medium-range engagements without a traditional scope.
