Star Wars: Hunters has announced its shutdown before even completing its first year, yet it will have the chance to celebrate its one-year anniversary before closing down. The question arises: is celebrating a dying game's anniversary worthwhile? While the game may be on its way out, commemorating its achievements and the community it built can still hold value for its dedicated players.
Zynga, the game's developer and publisher, is rolling out one last content update on April 15th. This update introduces a new Support Hunter, Tuya, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun. If you have any unspent Crystals, make sure to use them as no refunds will be issued.
The lack of major console support and a tepid reception further contributed to the game's struggles. Even the game's design choices were questionable, opting for generic original characters instead of leveraging the rich Star Wars universe filled with iconic figures.
If you've uninstalled the game but are considering one last playthrough, you can still download it from the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
