On March 7, 2025, the official Starfield Twitter (X) account announced that the development team is hard at work on new content, though specifics remain under wraps. The post emphasized that the team has exciting plans for 2025 and is committed to sharing more details soon. The developers are actively listening to fan feedback, suggesting that the upcoming update could be a significant one.

In a June 2024 interview with MrMattyPlays, game director Todd Howard hinted at the possibility of yearly DLCs for Starfield. This could mean that the teased update might be a new expansion, further enriching the game's universe.
