Tencent's Polaris Quest announces its open-world RPG, Light of Motiram, for mobile alongside PC and console releases. This ambitious title, revealed via Chinese social media, is slated for release on Epic Games Store, Steam, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
The game blends several genres, defying easy categorization. Described as an open-world RPG, it incorporates base-building (like Rust), creature collection and customization (Pokémon, Palworld), and even giant mechanical creatures reminiscent of Horizon Zero Dawn. The inclusion of co-op and cross-play further expands its scope.
The sheer breadth of features and impressive visuals raise questions about the feasibility of a smooth mobile release. While a mobile beta is reportedly in development, the challenges of porting such a complex game to mobile remain to be seen. Tencent and Polaris Quest haven't yet provided a concrete mobile release date.
