The UK-based developer Poncle has offered a further update on the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 ports of their popular roguelike, Vampire Survivors. Following the May releases of the game's latest expansion and update, Poncle clarified the status of the console versions, initially announced for a Summer 2024 release.
Vampire Survivors, a top-down shoot 'em up launched in December 2021, has already conquered the Nintendo Switch. While a precise release date for the PS4 and PS5 versions remains elusive, Poncle assures players it will be shared as soon as possible. The delay, according to the developer, stems from navigating the complexities of PlayStation's submission process for the first time, along with fine-tuning the Trophy system to ensure a satisfying achievement experience for players. Given the game's immense popularity (boasting over 200 achievements on Steam), this meticulous approach is understandable.

The recent Operation Guns DLC, released May 9th, introduced a Contra-themed expansion, adding new biomes, 11 characters, 22 automatic weapons, and classic Contra music to the game. A subsequent hotfix, 1.10.105 (May 16th), addressed bugs in both the base game and the new DLC.
