The open beta for aircraft battles in War Thunder Mobile has officially launched, bringing a wave of intense aerial action to the game. Gaijin Entertainment has rolled out this exciting update, allowing players to test over 100 planes from three nations, with more on the horizon.
While War Thunder Mobile previously included aircraft in naval and ground support roles, the aircraft open beta introduces a comprehensive aerial tech tree and a dedicated air-focused mode, enhancing the gameplay experience significantly.
Currently, the game showcases planes from three major nations: the USA, Germany, and the USSR. Iconic aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, Messerschmitt Bf 109, and the La-5 are part of the lineup, with plans to include more nations in future updates.
Players have the flexibility to focus on a single country's tech tree or mix and match to progress through multiple nations. High-ranking and top-tier aircraft can be acquired through blueprints by participating in in-game events, with the first event scheduled for early October.
Upon entering the open beta, players gain access to the new Aviation campaign, where they can explore the aircraft hangar, research tech trees, and upgrade their crews.
Squadrons can be formed with up to four planes at a time, and players can customize their aircraft with different armaments. Here's a sneak peek at what's in store:
The aircraft hangar is your hub between battles, where you can view your vehicles, select camouflage, explore the tech tree, and invite friends to join your squad.
For each aircraft slot, you have three main options: swap out the vehicle, modify the armament, or upgrade the crew assigned to that slot. Squadrons can be built with any available aircraft, regardless of class, nation, or rank.
With these new features, there's a wealth of content to explore. Download War Thunder Mobile from the Google Play Store and dive into the aircraft open beta test today.
