Warframe: 1999 reveals Techrot Encore release date with more content and characters

The much-anticipated 1999 expansion for Warframe continues to captivate fans, and the excitement ramps up with the upcoming Techrot Encore update, set for release on March 19th. This update promises a nostalgic turn-of-the-millennium setting combined with the series' signature action-packed gameplay. A standout feature is the return of the ARG band as formidable boss battles, adding a thrilling twist to the experience.

Techrot Encore introduces four new Protoframes—Flare, Minerva, Kaya, and Velimir II—expanding the roster of characters players can choose from. Additionally, the 60th Warframe, Temple, makes its debut, complete with Techrot Subwoofer minions and a sapient guitar named Lizzie, offering unique combat abilities that promise to shake up the battlefield.

For seasoned Warframe veterans, the update brings two new endgame stages. In Stage Defense, players defend Scaldra during a memorial show for fallen comrades, adding a poignant narrative element to the gameplay. Temporal Archimedea challenges players to team up with Minerva and Velimir II, tackling three consecutive random missions with the innovative Peely Pix system that dynamically alters modifiers for increased replayability.

A heartwarming addition to the update is the Atomicycle racing mini-game at the Höllvania Mall Hub arcade, Ollie's Crash Course. This feature honors a Make-A-Wish commitment from James Conlin, showcasing Digital Extremes' dedication to community engagement.
