The eagerly awaited public test server (PTS) for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now live, offering players an early glimpse into the much-anticipated Update 7.0 and its associated patch notes. In a recent community post, Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive revealed that the preliminary patch notes for the PTS version encompass "most" of the features planned for the 7.0 update. However, they emphasized that the final patch notes may differ as the development team continues to refine and address bugs.
For PC players participating in the PTS, there's a wealth of new content to explore, including the new PvE mission, "Exfiltration," and a new secondary weapon, the Inferno Pistol, available for the Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes. Update 7.0 also introduces endgame-focused prestige ranks in PvE and private PvP lobbies, enhancing the multiplayer experience.
Warhammer 40,000 fans will be thrilled with the new customization options in Update 7.0. The update brings new colors such as Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue, along with Bulwark cloth and hands recoloring. Additionally, customization rewards in PvP have been increased by 50%. The PTS also introduces new champion skins for the Tactical and Vanguard classes, featuring the Imperial Fists and Space Wolves, respectively.
Significant balance changes accompany the new content, with an extended weapon arsenal in PvE that now allows all classes to access a broader range of weapons. Notably, the Assault class can now wield the Power Sword without needing mods. Players are encouraged to review the detailed patch notes to understand the full scope of weapon adjustments.
One notable improvement is a change to the Inferno Operation. Now, if a player reaches the assembly area in the final stage of the level, other players will be automatically teleported there after a brief delay, addressing the issue of griefing where players could block progress by staying outside the assembly area indefinitely.
