Microsoft has just unveiled two new Xbox controllers inspired by The Witcher 3, and their designs are genuinely impressive. Both Witcher 3 Special Edition 10th Anniversary controllers are currently available exclusively through the Microsoft Store, offered in both a standard ($79.99) and an Elite Series 2 ($169.99) configuration. This release celebrates the 10th anniversary of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a milestone that feels remarkable for fans of this beloved title.

The two controllers share a very similar aesthetic, each featuring detailed engravings inspired by Geralt of Rivia. The iconic wolf medallion Geralt wears is prominently etched into the center. According to the official announcement, they also incorporate Glagolitic script—the oldest known Slavic alphabet, which appears throughout the game. Additionally, the right grip showcases the distinctive red claw marks that form the numeral "III" on the game's cover art. The overall execution is excellent.
Beyond the distinctive Witcher-themed design, these controllers function identically to their standard versions. The current Xbox Wireless Controller is widely regarded as one of the best ever made, known for its comfortable feel and robust construction that withstands heavy use.
The Elite Series 2 model offers several premium features to match its higher price point. These include adjustable-tension thumbsticks, hair trigger locks, and a wraparound rubberized grip. It also comes with a suite of interchangeable components, such as thumbsticks of various heights, alternative D-pad designs, and rear paddles that can be remapped to any button.
Compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android devices, these controllers follow the standard for modern Xbox accessories. For those who aren't limited to the Xbox ecosystem, the new Death Stranding 2-themed PS5 controller that recently became available for pre-order might also be of interest.
