Fans of the Sanderson sisters might finally get their wish - though the cauldron's brewing slower than expected. Sarah Jessica Parker recently dropped some tantalizing hints about Hocus Pocus 3, suggesting Disney hasn't abandoned plans for another sequel.
"No solid updates yet, but we're all eager to make it happen," Parker revealed during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live. "There have been... interesting discussions."
The original 1993 cult classic, directed by Kenny Ortega with a script by Neil Cuthbert and horror legend Mick Garris, became a generational touchstone. Its darkly comic tale of three resurrected witches hunting children's life force struck the perfect Halloween chord.
Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Parker's iconic witch trio successfully returned in 2022's Hocus Pocus 2. Disney executive Sean Bailey confirmed a third installment was in development last year, with director Anne Fletcher and writer Jen D'Angelo set to return.
But progress has crawled at zombie speed. Midler recently joked about the ticking clock: "I've caught some whispers about it," the EGOT winner quipped during a July 2024 talk show appearance. "If they want us, better hurry! Time isn't walking - it's sprinting toward the grave!"
Considering the magical chemistry between these three legends, fans would undoubtedly agree - the spell just wouldn't work without all three Sandersons stirring the pot together.
