SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is a W3C standard for vector-based images. Unlike bitmap images composed of fixed pixels, vector graphics consist of defined shapes and their properties. The key advantage of SVG is its scalability—enlarging the image does not result in any loss of detail.
This application (PainterSVG) is an editor designed for creating and modifying SVG images. It includes the following features:
- Create and edit shapes such as lines, circles, and rectangles
- Create and edit paths with support for straight, cubic, and quadratic lines—easily drag points and control handles to modify paths
- Simple controls for defining stroke and fill properties for all shapes and paths
- Apply solid color fills, linear gradients, or radial gradients to any shape
- Intuitive selection, movement, resizing, and rotation of elements
- Easy zoom in and zoom out functionality
- Group and ungroup elements with ease
- Read from and write to external SVG files
- Export to PNG (with transparent background) or JPG (with white background) formats
