Adventure Mode:
Begin your journey in daylight levels, then brace yourself for the increased difficulty of nighttime challenges. At the start of each level, select your plant team from an ever-expanding roster of 30 unique plants. You'll begin with limited plant slots, but these will increase as you progress through the 30 levels. The game unfolds across five lanes; zombies advance along these lanes, one at a time, toward your home. Earn "sun" to plant your defenses, either through natural sun generation in daytime levels or by using specific sun-producing plants. A helpful lawnmower will clear a lane if a zombie reaches the end, but a second zombie breach ends the game.
Mini-Games (9 in total):
Each mini-game presents a unique twist on the core gameplay, with 8 levels per mini-game. Here's a taste:
- Light Up Stars: Strategically plant Starfruit in designated areas to illuminate the field.
- Slot Machine: A twist on the usual gameplay, your plants are randomly assigned by a slot machine, requiring you to adapt to whatever hand you're dealt.
- Little Zombie: Face a massive swarm of tiny zombies!
- Last Stand: Survive multiple waves with a pre-selected team of ten plants. No sun-producing plants allowed!
- Zombie Quick: Experience double the speed! Zombies, plants, projectiles, and sun all move at twice the normal rate.
- Invisible Zombies: Detect and defeat unseen enemies using your plants' abilities.
- Bowling: Use plants like the Tree, Palm Tree, and Tomato Bomb as bowling balls to knock down zombies.
- Push Pumpkin: Guide a zombie to push pumpkins into target areas.
- Dotman: Navigate a Piranha Plant through a maze, collecting dots and avoiding zombies.
